Congratulations!

What's Next?

Congratulations on being accepted to Columbus State. Please follow the next steps below to complete your enrollment process as a transfer student.

FAFSA - Apply for Financial aid. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only form required, and is available online after October 1st. The priority deadline is March 15th. If you have applied for the Spring or Summer terms, submit your FAFSA as soon as possible. Awards are made until funds are depleted.

Housing - Determine your housing plans. If you choose to live on campus, complete an online housing application and submit with your $200 housing deposit and $50 activity fee. You will need your CSU ID number and email address located in the top right of your acceptance letter to apply for housing online. If you decide to live off campus, there are a variety of housing options located within a mile or two of campus, but an on campus experience is always a great option. Also, please feel free to look over our residence life facebook page for upcoming events and photos.

Immunizations - Have a current certificate of immunization sent to us

Lawful presence - To verify residency an authorized document must be sent to our office. Click here for a checklist of acceptable documents.

Orientation - Each incoming student must partake in an orientation event. As a traditional transfer student, your orientation will be online. To open and complete your orientation please click here. If you are a freshman transfer, you will need to complete an on campus orientation.

Class registration - Once you have completed your online orientation you will be able to register for classes . To find out who your advisor is, visit your MyCSU account. If an advisor is not assigned to you at this time, please click here and scroll to your intended major.

Submit your final transcripts. Admission to the University is conditional on your satisfactory completion of courses. Our office may rescind admission on students whose academic performance declines. It is your responsibility to ensure that your final college transcript is submitted prior to enrollment. A registration hold will be placed on your record if the transcript is not submitted. Evaluation of all transfer credit cannot be completed until we receive your final, official college transcript(s).

Getting involved. Once you arrive on campus you may want to get involved and we have over 100 clubs and organizations for you to a part of. Check out our CSUinvolve page for more information.

One more step and you are ready. Make sure you have your schedule so you can buy your books and maybe come visit us so we can show you around campus.

If you would like a campus tour, register for one of our daily campus tours (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) or maybe one of our Open houses/preview days.
